Week 9 College Football Bets
Kevin goes through his favorite bets of the Week 9 college football season.
As we head into Week 9 of the college football season, the finish line is starting to come into view. The stakes are getting higher with each game, and we're pushing to stay sharp in the final stretch. We’ve managed to stay well above .500, posting winning records in all but one week so far. With conference races heating up, we’ve got a solid slate of games lined up, and I’m ready to break down my top picks for the week. Let’s keep the momentum going!
Colorado -5.5 Over Cincinatti
I’m taking Colorado -5.5 over Cincinnati this week, and here’s why: Colorado is coming off a dominant 34-7 win against Arizona, where they took control early and never looked back. Shedeur Sanders continues to be a force, leading one of the top passing offenses in the country, while the Buffaloes’ defense stepped up, holding Arizona to just 245 yards. Cincinnati, on the other hand, has struggled offensively, especially through the air, and they’ll need to rely on their ground game to keep up. However, playing at altitude in Colorado presents a unique challenge, and with the Buffaloes playing at home and looking to stay in the mix for the Big 12 race, I expect them to cover this spread.

Louisville -6.5 Over Boston College
I’m taking Louisville -6.5 over Boston College because the Cardinals' high-powered offense is primed to take control. With Tyler Shough leading the charge, Louisville ranks 12th nationally in yards per play and has been explosive, with the second-most plays of 40+ yards. Their passing attack is lethal, featuring Alabama transfer Ja’Corey Brooks and big-play threat Chris Bell, while freshman Isaac Brown has shown efficiency when they do run the ball. Boston College’s run defense has struggled, which should open things up for Louisville to capitalize. Despite some defensive issues, I expect the Cardinals to wear down the Eagles and cover the spread.
Iowa VS. Northwestern Over 37.5 Points
I’m taking over 37.5 points in the Northwestern vs. Iowa game because, while both teams have struggled offensively, there's just enough firepower on both sides to push this game past the low total. Iowa’s defense showed some cracks last week, giving up 32 points to Michigan State, and with Northwestern’s balanced but steady attack, I expect them to find some scoring opportunities. On the other side, Iowa’s Kaleb Johnson can take advantage of Northwestern’s defense, which has had its ups and downs. It may not be a high-scoring affair, but both teams should score just enough to clear that 37.5 total.
