Week 10 College Football Bets
Kevin goes through his favorite bets of the Week 10 college football season.
As we roll into Week 10, we’re heading into the final stretch of the college football season. Last week wasn’t our best, finishing 2-4, but that’s all part of the ride in sports betting. Ups and downs come with the territory, and we’re here to bounce back strong. With plenty on the line for teams across the board, this week brings some interesting matchups and opportunities. Let’s dive into my favorite bets for Week 10.
Illinois +3 over Minnesota
I’m taking Illinois +3 at home against Minnesota, and here’s why. Barry Lunney Jr. has quietly become one of the top play-callers in the Big Ten, and he’s getting solid production out of second-year QB Luke Altmyer. Altmyer’s athletic, accurate, and generally takes care of the ball, completing 63% of his passes for 1,667 yards and 15 touchdowns this season. While he’s hit a rough patch recently, this Illinois offense can be dangerous when Altmyer is on point. Pat Bryant, his top target, adds a reliable and dynamic red zone threat, leading the team with 510 yards and seven touchdowns. Though the run game has been hit-or-miss, Illinois’ defense has been clutch, with a classic bend-but-don’t-break style and a knack for forcing turnovers — ranking 25th nationally in takeaways. Add in Minnesota’s shaky road performances and a history of slow starts, and I think Illinois has a real edge here, especially with Bret Bielema’s 10-0 record against Minnesota. Illinois getting points at home? I’ll gladly take that.

Ohio State -3.5 Over Penn State
I’m taking Ohio State -3.5 over Penn State this week, and here’s the rundown. Ohio State didn’t look sharp against Nebraska, but every team has an off game, and hopefully that was theirs. Sure, the Buckeyes have had issues on the offensive line, especially after losing Josh Simmons, but they’ve proven they can adapt. Penn State’s defense is great against the run, allowing less than 100 rushing yards per game, so it’ll be up to Ohio State to find ways to balance the ground game enough to open up the passing attack. On the other side of the ball, the Buckeyes’ defense will need to stay fresh and disciplined to hold up against Penn State’s offensive firepower and a potentially mobile quarterback in Beau Pribula if Drew Allar can’t go. Even with challenges, I expect Ohio State to keep it close until the end, and history suggests Penn State's James Franklin has struggled in big games like this. I’m betting on Ohio State to cover as they take control late.
