5 Dynasty Takeaways From Week 4
Kevin Coleman breaks down his top 5 dynasty takeaways from Week 4.
As we head into Week 5 of the NFL season, the fantasy football landscape has already seen significant shifts in dynasty value. Now that we have four weeks of data to analyze, trends are beginning to emerge, helping us better gauge which players are on the rise and who may be falling behind. Injuries have been a major storyline, shaking up both contending and rebuilding teams. Navigating the fallout from these injuries will be critical for dynasty managers looking to make the right moves. In this article, we’ll break down my top five dynasty takeaways from Week 4, diving into the players and strategies that can help you stay ahead in your league.
Bucky Irving’s Role Is Getting Bigger
Bucky Irving’s role in the Buccaneers' offense is quietly expanding, and his potential dynasty value is on the rise. In Week 4, Irving played a season-high 40.5% of the offensive snaps and found the end zone for the first time in his career. With a strong 5.8 yards per carry, ranking seventh in the league, Irving is showing the efficiency needed to push for lead-back duties in Tampa Bay. His increased involvement, especially in goal-line situations, signals a shift in Todd Bowles' confidence in him. Irving saw four carries inside the 10-yard line in the Bucs' win over the Eagles, while Rachaad White got none. Although the backfield is still a timeshare, Irving’s efficiency and usage in key moments make him a prime dynasty target, especially for those looking to invest in a rookie RB with significant upside. He’s already proving to be a solid RB3 with the potential to take over the backfield, making him an excellent buy candidate in dynasty formats.

Dynasty Buy - Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin
Terry McLaurin is shaping up to be a fantastic dynasty buy for contenders this season. As Washington’s clear top target, McLaurin has seen 28 targets through four games, ranking ninth in the NFL with a 26.4% target share. He also has a team high 31.6% first read share. This offense is finally running through McLaurin. While rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels is still settling in as the Commanders’ quarterback, he's been looking McLaurin's way often, especially in the red zone. McLaurin already has two touchdowns this year, and he’s on pace to potentially set a career-high in scoring, which is something he hasn’t done since his rookie season in 2019. Despite a slow start, McLaurin’s role as a reliable WR2 with weekly upside makes him a valuable asset for contending teams. With a tough schedule ahead, Washington may be forced to air it out more, which could result in even more opportunities for McLaurin to deliver in key fantasy matchups. If you're a contender looking for a dependable, high-upside receiver, McLaurin is a prime target.

Xavier Legette Breakout?
Xavier Legette is emerging as a breakout candidate for the Carolina Panthers this season, showing flashes of his immense potential in Week 4. With Andy Dalton revitalizing the Panthers' offense, Legette stepped into the spotlight, taking on a role similar to Adam Thielen’s and delivering a standout performance. He was targeted 10 times, catching six passes for 66 yards and scoring a touchdown, while also adding 10 rushing yards on two end-arounds. As the Panthers find themselves in frequent negative game scripts, Legette’s ability to get open and make plays is becoming increasingly vital.
Legette’s progression has been impressive, especially considering questions about his route-running coming out of college. He’s showing week-to-week improvement and has begun to carve out a significant role in Dave Canales' offense. With Thielen aging and unlikely to be part of the Panthers' long-term plans, Legette is primed to establish himself as a future cornerstone for this team. If he continues this upward trajectory, Legette could be a difference-maker for the rest of this season and for years to come. If you are looking for an offense to buy players in, it’s Canales. Also, his price is still cheap and worth buying for all dynasty managers.
