3 Dynasty Takeaways From Week 6
Kevin Coleman breaks down his top 3 dynasty takeaways from Week 6.
Week 6 of the NFL season is in the books, and it’s gut-check time for dynasty fantasy managers. Whether you’re cruising with a stacked lineup or barely hanging on after a tough start, the next few weeks will determine if you’re a contender or pretender in your league. By now, we have a clearer picture of which players are stepping up and who might not be living up to the offseason hype. For dynasty managers, it's the perfect time to evaluate your roster and make some key moves that could set you up for a deep playoff run—or help you pivot toward a rebuild if things aren’t going your way.
In this article, I’ll break down three main takeaways from Week 6 that every dynasty manager should keep an eye on. These insights will help you figure out whether it’s time to double down on your core players or make strategic trades to build for the future. The clock is ticking, and every move matters—let's dive into what Week 6 has taught us and how you can use it to your advantage.
Kimani Vidal For Real?
Kimani Vidal made a strong first impression in his NFL debut for the Chargers, scoring a touchdown and showing his potential as a versatile weapon in both the running and passing game. Despite J.K. Dobbins being the lead back, Vidal's Week 6 performance against the Broncos highlighted his ability to contribute in high-value situations. Vidal rotated in for snaps throughout each drive, including a wheel route touchdown that showcased his explosiveness. While he only had four rushing attempts for 11 yards, his impact in the passing game was significant, catching two targets for 40 yards and a touchdown. As Vidal’s snap count creeps up toward the 30-35% range, his efficiency per touch could make him a valuable asset in the Chargers’ offense, especially with Gus Edwards on IR. The Chargers are likely to keep leaning on Dobbins, but Vidal's role should continue to grow, especially in favorable matchups like the upcoming one against the Cardinals’ weak run defense.
Given the confidence the coaching staff has shown in him and how well Vidal fits into the Chargers' offensive scheme, he's a player worth buying right now. With his versatility and growing role, Vidal could have sneaky upside down the stretch of the season, particularly for fantasy contenders looking for a potential league-winner in deeper leagues. His ability to contribute in both phases of the game makes him a valuable asset, and his workload is only likely to increase as the season progresses.

Buy TE David Njoku!
David Njoku is quietly becoming a solid dynasty buy, especially after seeing an increased role in his second game back from injury. In Week 6, Njoku played in 75% of Cleveland's offensive snaps, showing that he's firmly entrenched in the offense again. After missing Weeks 2-4, his snap counts across personnel groupings are trending upward, which is a great sign for his long-term value. Njoku saw 63.3% of the routes and had an impressive 30.4% target share. Despite the Browns’ struggles, Njoku remains a focal point in their offense, with a significant 31.6% first-read share. While he didn’t explode statistically this week (5 catches for 31 yards), he’s in line for a bigger role as the Browns' passing game finds its rhythm, especially in games where they’ll be playing from behind. For dynasty managers, Njoku’s volume and potential upside make him a borderline TE1 down the stretch, particularly in tight-end premium leagues.

Buy Low On Trey Benson
Trey Benson’s time could be now, as he’s slowly becoming more involved in the Cardinals' offense. While James Conner has been the lead back, his efficiency has dipped compared to last season, and his fumble in Week 6 opened the door for Benson to get some key snaps. Benson flashed his potential with a 20-yard run and finished with 26 yards on just five carries, showing that he can be a playmaker when given the opportunity. While Conner remains the starter, Benson's role could grow, especially if the Cardinals look for a spark in the running game.
With Conner's recent injury history and limited efficiency, Benson is a prime candidate to step up as the season progresses. Even though his fantasy value may currently rely on a potential Conner injury, the fact that Benson saw meaningful touches outside of garbage time for the first time in weeks is a sign that his workload could increase. Dynasty managers should consider stashing Benson now, as he could provide significant upside if Conner misses time, or if the Cardinals decide to shift more touches toward the rookie
